Although they admit that the rescue is not their priority - Ben is, do you think the "freighter people" are good or bad? And, do you think they work for Dharma?

52.63% I watch the Sneak Peeks because I just can't wait!
5.26% I don't watch the Sneak Peeks because I feel like it takes away from the show!

Comment: I do think that the "freighter people" work for Dharma, especially after seeing the look on Charlotte's face when she finds the collar with the Dharma symbol on it. That said, I think they are an organization with good overall motives - scientific and medical advances for the betterment of mankind, but I also think that they are not beyond eliminating some people along the way that may jeopardize their experiments. On another note, Diana made a comment for the previous question that she thinks time travel is involved and that the people who made it off the island were actually sent back in time. I agree with her. I think time travel does play a part, but I don't think the people that made it off the island were sent back in time because they are referred to as the "Oceanic 6." People wouldn't know what they were unless the crash had already occurred.
Byron, Kernersville, NC

Comment: Maybe the Oceananic 6 got on the helicopter, since it only can hold 6 maybe thats why they are called "Oceanic 6" and they were the only ones to get off the island. I think the freighter people are pretty good, I don't they want to harm Jack and the rest of the survivors, they they do want to get their hands on Ben for something!!!
Tarheel, K,ville, NC

Comment: I think the freghter people are indeed part of the Dharma group - perhaps they are there to capture Ben for what he did to their people years ago. Not sure who's initials are on Naomi's bracelet in the sneak peek... perhaps someone we haven't met yet.
Eric, Winston-Salem

Comment: Anyone catch the possible meanings behind the names of the 4 new characters: Charlotte's name: Charlotte Staples Lewis, is a reference to Clive Staples Lewis (commonly referred to as C.S. Lewis), author of the Chronicles of Narnia. Michael Faraday was an English chemist and physicist who contributed to electromagnetism as a field of study. From Wikipedia: "He established that magnetism could affect rays of light and that there was an underlying relationship between the two phenomena." In this episode, Faraday comments on abnormalities in the light rays on the island. The name Minkowski is a reference to Hermann Minkowski, the mathematician who pioneered the idea of 4-dimensional space-time. The name Lapidus may be a reference to the movie Sleeper, in which one character says "Then I would talk like Mr. Lapidus, who got hit by lightning." Sleeper is about a man who wakes up after being frozen in liquid nitrogen for 200 years. "Lapidus," literally translated from Hebrew, means "candles," or "torches."
Christian, Pensacola

Comment: Okay, here's something I thought about while watching the flashes on the freighter people (Dan/Sam, Miles, Charlotte, and Lapidus(pilot guy)) - perhaps we are seeing their flash forwards and not their flashbacks... In each flash scene of the 4 freighter folks, the news seems to be covering the recovery of Oceanic 815 from the ocean (as we all know, the plane crashed on the island, not the in the sea) The first guy, Daniel/Sam, seems to be crying hysterically - WHY? The Charlotte lady seems to not believe the headlines in the newspaper about oceanic being recovered. The pilot fella is also upset about the media coverage of the recovery and calls the Oceanic hotline to voice his opinion. It's another piece to the puzzle, but I think that the 4 freighter folks are also part of the future 'cover up' of what happened with flight 815. Okay, sorry for the confusion - but what do you all think???
Eric, Winston-Salem

Comment: Does John Locke have healing powers now since he had that encounter with Walt? Also, what's the deal with the feigther people, are they there to really rescue or not?
Trina, W-S, NC

Comment: There is a great, in-depth article on last nights episode at EW.com. It discusses some of the questions we have already raised, but it also raises a few more and gives some possible explanations. It is long, it goes off on some rabbit trails that I think are interesting little facts, but have little bearing on the overall story. It does catch some things you may have missed that could be important to the story.
Byron, Kernersville, NC

Comment: Great episode last night!!! I think the freighter people are bad, but that the four rescue people on the chopper are good. They are just not in the loop on whats really going on. They were hired and paid good money to find Ben, and that's all they know. R.G. could be the Regina person that Miles was talking to on the satellite phone when he was trying to reach George on the ship.
Javier, King NC

Comment: Last night's episode was a mistery. I wondered if anyone out there would explain it to me. I talked to a lostie friend in Raleigh who felt the same way. Am I over analyzing?
Martha, High Point, NC

Comment: what the heck happened last night? I was "lost" the whole episode
Martha, High Point, NC

Comment: The "freighter people" are Soooooo bad!! and I bet we will find out the Ben is actually a good person in the end. Love the show, love the site, and UNCG loves LOST!!
Misty, GSO!

Comment: Hey Martha, go to the video section and you can watch various videos that might help you get over your confused state. I think the freighter people are most definately BAD BAD BAD - especially that mysterious black guy who recruits Naomi. Nicky thinks that R.G. stands for Richard Gere.
Brad & Nicky, UNCG

Comment: PS - where is the ABC45 hatch?!?!??! We want to take a tour and look for clues.
Brad, UNCG

Comment: The mysterious black guy that recruits Naomi is named Matthew Abaddon on the show. According to Webster's, abbadon, in Hebrew means 'destruction' or 'abyss', it is 'the place of lost souls,' 'hell,' and 'bottomless pit.' The angel of this place is called Apollyon in Greek (see also Revelations 9:11)... Apollyon is 'the angel of the bottomless pit, the devil or satan.'

My guess is that he is not a good guy.

As for the initials R.G. - Richard Gere?! That's pretty funny - perhaps wishful thinking on Nicky's part?

The abc45 hatch is in Winston-Salem and open to all visitors. However, we are not nearly as impressive as the hatches you see on the show, and our smoke monster is just the engineers puffing away outside while trying to figure out what piece of equipment to fix next.
Byron, Kernersville, NC

Comment: Is it just me, or did Charlotte seem to know exactly what she was looking for when she got to the excavation site where they found a polar bear. AND Does anyone know whatever happened to the drawing on the door in Desmonds old hatch?? It was like a huge map of the island - with all the latest happenings, maybe we should look at it again. If someones got a screen capture of it, please send it to me or post it here. thanks.
Ben (no relation) , High Point

Comment: I totally agree that Charlotte knew what to look for - the first place she started to excavate was around the neck and found the collar right away. If you go to this link you'll find the picture of the hatch map.
Byron, Kernersville, NC

Comment: Friegter People = bad Jack & Sawyer = oh so GOOOD! I love this season, hope it doesn't end any time soon :P
mindianne, Winston-Salem

Comment: Although I want the rescue team on the frieghter to be good - we all have to assume that they are not, especially after seeing another round of fast forwards. There is some deep dark secret that the Oceanic 6 must keep - and it's driving us insane trying to figure out what it is. LOST is the best 'water cooler talk' show since twin peaks, and I love this site because our IT dept doesn't block it at work - ha! PS - bring back MR. Ecko
David, Clemmons, NC

Comment: ***BREAKING NEWS*** The writers guild has just voted to end their 3-month long strike. Looks like they'll head back to work on Wednesday (2/13) so we can get back to producing fresh episodes of LOST. We'll keep you posted on how things are going with the show and what you can expect going forward.
Eric , Winston-Salem

It was the traditional "set up" episode, but still some good stuff nonetheless. We saw how Jack came to know about his sister Claire, and a little bit of how Hurley began his mental decline. How do you think the Oceanic Six get together and off the island

A lot of familiar faces in "Cabin Fever," but still no Jacob. What do you think Christian told Locke and what do you think of the "new" Claire?

LOST hit soap opera mode this week. Lots of lovin' between Jack and Kate, some surgery and a dab of crazy Hurley - sounds like and episode of General Hospital. Anyone have a theory about the visions that Hurley and Jack seem to be having?

Last Thursday's episode ran at a hundred miles a minute, and there was some great info revealed. Such as how Sayid came to work for Ben and a little more into the relationship between Ben and Charles Widmore. What stood out to you in this episode?

Any new info since the break?

Who shot Carl and Rousseau? Simple enough, right?

Michael's back...back again...And we now have all of the Oceanic Six - but as usual there is a twist. Did Jin make it off the island long enough to be part of the six or is it Ben or Aaron? What are your thoughts?

So, Charles Whidmore vs. Ben Linus! And obviously Ben told Locke who his man is on the boat. What burns me is that Jack doesn't say anything about the disappearing chick talking to Juliet in the middle of the jungle! What gives?

What is going on? How is it that people - and rats, can jump through time with just their minds and leave their bodies behind?

After reading the posts from immediately after the show, the big question on everyones mind seems to be - What the heck!, how did Kate become Aaron's mom?

WOW! What an episode! Who saw Sayid working for Ben?! As Ben is repairing Sayid, he asks him, "Don't you want to protect your friends?" Is Ben the ultimate winner in this game and holding the fate of all the Losties in his hand?

The writers' strike is at an end. Here's what it means for LOST. What are your thoughts?

Although they admit that the rescue is not their priority - Ben is, do you think the "freighter people" are good or bad? And, do you think they work for Dharma?

There are some theories about LOST that say either time travel, cloning or some sort of paranormal activity is present on the island. Do you subscribe to any of these theories? Do you have a theory of your own?

Who do you think George McKowski is(the voice on the sat phone), and who do you think he and the "freighter people work for?

LOST premieres tonight! Which character are you most looking forward to seeing?

The premiere of LOST is just this Thursday! ABC is releasing a ton of new video including interviews, sneak peaks, and behind the scenes footage. What have you come across lately?

Cloverfield just premiered this weekend and with all the conspiracy that surrounds J.J. Abram's projects, did anyone find any hidden LOST clues?

As the NEW Season of LOST nears, what mysteries are you looking forward to solving? (Any other questions and comments are welcome as well!)
